It shows that a) a lot of the concerns people have about immigration, legal and non, are not true, and b) that American immigration law has a long, exploitative, and racist history that continues along into the present. The vast majority of those brown people are illegal immigrants. There is a lot of money spent at every level (city, county, state and federal) of government supplying them with services they don't deserve because they are ILLEGAL. I don't know what your heritage is but everyone in my family came here legally and had to learn to speak English. “Corporate profits are too important to let a few thousand brown people live above the poverty line.”
