[...] Doh! I guess we made some sort of back-end changes to the blog when we upgraded, because dozens of comments that y’all made were waiting for approval by me, and therefore weren’t on the site (including one by the webmaster of a site I’d given a bit of a ribbing). Sorry about that. I went ahead and made the changes, and hopefully comments will get up in a timely manner from now on. [...]

LOL, while those are certanily admirable
traits, that's not actually why I registered
EvannaLynch.net.

The reason I registered that domain so quickly
were actually a culmination of the fact that
Luna Lovegood's indifference to others'
opinions of her has made her my favorite
character in the HP books, and when I saw
Evanna's picture, I realized she looked very
close to how I had picturing Luna this entire
time. I registered the domain because I read
that she was a HP fanatic for "years and
years", had gone to all of the HP book
premieres, things like that, and was amazed
that such an avid HP fan was actually having
her dream being realized. I registered the domain
because I knew I would love her soon enough,
and for once in my life, actually felt the
desire to open a fansite, and felt that it would
actually be able to go somewhere and be of use
to HP fans across the world.

And then, of course, the reason it has grown
so large in such a short amount of time has
been due to the fact that Evanna has since
given several interviews and shown that
she is not only the ideal image for Luna
Lovegood, but that she's extremely humble,
intelligent and caring, as well, which has already
gained her a huge fanbase. She's shown that
she has depth and is truly living her dream.

I hope this cleared some things up for you. :)

Evanna Lunch? You're serious?

...that's not a made-up name, like Amanda Hugginkiss or Ivana Tinkle?

Really?

Boggles the mind.

y'know, i wouldn't really get hot and bothered about this. seems like there are a lot more crazy things in the world. for instance, vice president dick cheney shooting a 78-year-old man in the face. i would also like to point out after visting the site that i bet her publicist is behind it, knowing that rabid fans will visit and start buzzing about her/the site/ etc. looks like it worked.
