LMB Radio: news commentary, hot music, and technical difficulties.
I keep thinking that some day I’ll regularly do shows where nothing goes wrong: no glitches, no corrupt files, no broken equipment, no internet outages. Today was not that day. I think the heat of our little tin trailer might’ve had something to do with it.
In this episode, I discuss bees, killing bees, not killing bees, Pat Robertson, Hugo Chavez, the dangers of Fox News incompetence, the smell of technical breakdown, rifles vs ravers, the Iraqi constitutional fight, the pending Iraqi civil war, Bush’s betrayal of Iraqi feminists, Badr vs Sadr, and ultra-vacationing. I also demand national siestas, wish my Dad a Happy Birthday and give highly irresponsible advice to the suicidal.
Musically we’ve got Mars Volta, Camper Van Beethoven, The Smiths, Immortal Technique, Candypants, Astrid Oto, Primus, Busdriver, Tori Amos, Hot Karl & MC Serch, Ladytron, Suzanne Vega, Arcade Fire, Lard, Rage Against the Machine, and more.
Bee Update: although the exterminator assured us on Monday that he’d done the job, the bees have apparently opened up a second front in the war on us DJs. The number of bees seemed to dwindle, until this evening, when apparently the bees breached the studio en masse. I was told that you could see a swarm inside through the windows. If my show had been just a few hours later…
