Lying Media Bastards 8-04-05

Tim Wise is a pretty brilliant guy. He’s a white guy who talks about white racism to white people. He manages to do it in a way that challenges his audience, but doesn’t push them so hard that they turn on him. We talk about white privilege, media impact on racial perceptions, the Minutemen, immigration, and scapegoating.

Musically, we’ve got Billy Bragg, Stereo Total, Public Enemy, Bjork, Ghostface, Bob Dylan, Mindless Self Indulgence, Propagandhi, Fishbone, Cat Power, Japanther, Rage Against the Machine, Finley Quay, AC/DC and more.

I’m glad to say that the interview sound is greatly improved (we halfway installed some phone-enhancing tech), and it should only get better.

Next few shows will just be music and me yappin’ solo. This interview stuff is fun and enriching, but kinda stressful.
